Tommy Valade finished 83rd out of 249 runners in the MHSAA Boys Division 1 State Finals on Saturday November 3rd. His time of 16:31.2 was a PR by about one second. His mile splits were 5:06, 5:33, and 5:24. He was cheered on by many of his teammates that made the trip to MIS. The weather was sunny, cool, and breezy throughout the day.

The SEC was very well represented today in both the boys and girls divisions. In Division 1 boys, the three other teams in OUR SEC RED DIVISION finished 2nd(Saline), 4th(AA Pioneer), and 5th(AA Huron). This surprised no one familiar with our division as they have been dominant all year. Our young Kickin' Mules team has a lot of work to do over the next year as these powerhouse teams will be back again next fall.

In the D2 Boys race, Dexter was 2nd, Chelsea 8th, and Tecumseh 23. In D1 Girls, Saline was 5th and AA Huron 8th. In D2 girls, Dexter was 7th and Tecumseh 20th. In all, 10 of the 18 SEC Boys and Girls CC TEAMS participated in the state finals today. Eight of these teams finished in the top ten today.
